Company to Build Second Plant in Fort Lauderdale
Adonel Concrete, South Florida’s largest independently owned concrete company, has announced the acquisition of 2.5 acres of land to build a second concrete plant in northeast Broward County. The purchase price was $1.9 million.
When completed in early 2015, the plant will be able to produce 200 yards of concrete per hour. An additional 20 new Adonel Concrete trucks will be housed at the plant. The new plant will be adjacent to Adonel’s existing Fort Lauderdale location at 5551 NW 9th Avenue.
“I’m confident about the future for Florida’s east coast,” said Adonel president Luis Garcia, “and this new plant will enable us to better serve our customers in Palm Beach, Broward and Northern Miami-Dade counties.”
Adonel is providing concrete for such major residential projects as Estates at Tradition being developed by D.R. Horton on the Treasure Coast and Lennar Homes’ MiraLago community in the City of Parkland.
Headquartered in Miami-Dade County, Adonel Concrete was founded in 1984 and currently has a total of 12 concrete plants: four in Miami-Dade County, one in Broward County, two in Palm Beach County, two in St. Lucie County and three in Haiti. It has more than 210 employees and a fleet of 120 trucks.
